Welcome to an exhilarating adventure that will push your boundaries and empower you like never before!
Our 3rd annual Women’s Intro to Ice Climbing Adventure, this Winter 2026, is the perfect opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and embrace the thrill of scaling frozen waterfalls while forging lasting connections with like-minded women.

Ice climbing is a unique winter sport that combines physical challenge with mental fortitude, offering an unparalleled sense of accomplishment. As you ascend glistening ice formations, you’ll discover inner strength you never knew you had. This all-inclusive retreat is designed specifically for women, creating a supportive environment where you can learn, grow, and conquer fears together.

Who can join:

  • This retreat is designed for complete newbies who have never been on ice as well as beginners who want to hone in on their skills and technique.
  • No climbing experience is needed beforehand but top rope experience is helpful.
  • Positive vibes only. You need to have a damn good attitude because we’ll spend a lot of hours at Ouray Ice Park in the cold so you can experience this! As you know, winter weather can be unpredictable but I’ll help you with your layering system to make sure you stay as comfortable as possible.
  • SPACE IS LIMITED (10 participants)

Why should you join?

This adventure offers more than just a new skill – it’s a transformative experience. You’ll build confidence, develop trust in yourself and others, and create unforgettable memories. Our expert guides will ensure your safety while teaching you the fundamentals of ice climbing. After an invigorating day on the ice, you’ll unwind with a professionally-led RAD Roller class, focusing on self-care and recovery to keep you in top form throughout the trip, as well as soaking in hot springs. You will also learn how to properly layer in the winter for cold-weather activities so you don’t become a human popsicle.

Why book a trip with Tiff?

If there’s anyone who can relate to a beginner wanting to learn to climb ice… it’s Tiff. As a SoCal born-and-raised city girl who never experienced winter growing up, learning to ice climb had been a life-changing journey.

Tiff has been organizing Women’s Intro to Ice Climbing Trips since 2024 to help empower other curious ladies to step out of their comfort zone.

Tiff understands how intimidating ice climbing can be. She runs cold and is terrified of heights, yet she’s found a way to push through the physical and mental barriers to enjoy the wonderful world of ice.

I first swung tools in January 2021 and it went horribly. I was so afraid of heights that I didn’t climb to the top of the short ice walls at Ouray Ice Park—I froze every time I got about halfway up. Yet, something about it just stuck with me and kept drawing me back to want to get better. It really doesn’t get any worse than my first time and I now find myself climbing really tall WI5 relatively-comfortably-ish. I’ve gotten better at managing the fear or heights with more time on ice and I’m a true believer that if I can do it, anyone can.

The schedule is packed throughout the event, focusing on adventure and recovery which does not leave not much time for you to explore the town. If you’d like time to walk Ouray (which is really small and cute), I’d recommend traveling in earlier on day 1 or staying later on day 4 to accommodate this in your travel plans as there is plenty of time before/after the trip.

Testimonials

  • Tiffany posted about a women’s ice climbing trip on her Instagram story last month. I didn’t know her or anything about ice climbing but I texted my friend Rachel and after a few texts and an hour or so we were committed.

Damn, thank goodness for our ignorance and our open minds. First, our ignorance allowed us to lead with excitement and wonder. Pumped out arms? Never heard of it. The possibility of ice or ice tools falling and hitting you? Totally clueless about that. Our open minds allowed for such a beautiful weekend of 2 full days of ice climbing, meeting incredible women, learning new skills, and discovering Ouray.

We could not have had better guides. BaseCamp Ouray set us up with guides, Logan and Anna Pfaff who created a comfortable and safe environment that made the weekend SO much better. Anna is an absolute badass athlete and a joy to spend a weekend with. I would definitely recommend BaseCamp Ouray if you are interested in trying out ice climbing or renting gear.

Tiffany curated the perfect trip. We had a really nice lodging that was a mile from downtown, we also had a spa and recovery night where we used RAD rollers to recover our muscles after climbing all day, made bath salts, and essential oil sprays. The price point of the trip was well worth it. I would definitely go on another trip that Tiffany organizes.

  • I decided to join Tiff’s ice climbing trip to prepare for a mountaineering goal in Peru. Little did I know that I would be meeting and making some incredible adventure partners and friends!

The entire trip was wonderfully organized, from a group of incredible and supportive guides/ instructors who made ice climbing feel approachable and who encouraged us to push our boundaries, to daily non-climbing activities like group dinners, hot springs, stretch sessions, and chocolate runs that truly rounded out the days.

Tiff was supportive, kind, and generous with her energy and time both leading up to and during the trip—she made sure that all of us felt seen, that all of us had the opportunity to work on our goals, and that all of us came out stronger climbers, regardless of how much or little experience we had before. What an experience! I’m already itching for a repeat.

  • Where do I even begin? Ice climbing for the first time in Ouray was an exhilarating and worthwhile experience! Everyone thought I was a bit crazy for hopping on a plane to Colorado last minute to try out ice climbing- yet it turned out to be one of the best spontaneous decisions I’ve made of the year.

Tiffany went out of her way to organize a second women’s ice climbing retreat for me since I couldn’t make the first one, & I’m extremely grateful she did. I learned valuable techniques and skills from the professionals themselves, as well as Tiffany & Suzanna being incredibly helpful and motivating throughout the entire trip. Tiffany made sure that us women were engaged & learning, challenging ourselves, & last but not least of course having fun! Even when the climbs were challenging at times, they always ensured our safety and comfortability were top priority. On top of an incredible first ice climbing experience, we stayed in the most cozy lodging in the center of downtown Ouray, relaxed after climbs with RAD roller massages and homemade dinners, & even soaked in some hot springs.

I cannot recommend enough Tiffany’s Ouray Ice Climbing Retreat. The most epic, challenging, inspiring, & fun weekend in Colorado with a group of amazing women. I will happily be joining the next retreat that Tiffany organizes!

  • When I first signed up for Tiff’s woman’s ice climbing trip, I had a little to no expectations. I can easily say the trip far exceeded anything I would have imagined. My friend Liz and I agreed to go just to try something new. Little did we know what an incredible experience we would have and what great friendships would come such a special weekend.

I knew nothing about ice climbing and was slightly hesitant. However, from the moment I got there, Tiff was encouraging, helpful and most of all inspiring. We learned so much in a short amount of time and quickly had a blast. The partnership with Basecamp Ouray gave us the extra confidence and made gear setup and everything supper convenient. Tiffany was so fun and thoughtful with organizing the whole trip, from instructive ice climbing lessons with a professional to group recovery yoga sessions, she thought of it all. I felt challenged, inspired and relaxed after the weekend and cannot recommend it enough!

  • I wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude for awarding me the Bronco Wild Fund Scholarship.

I had the privilege of connecting with an amazing community of diverse women, all dedicated to challenging themselves and achieving remarkable things. Their stories and determination truly inspire me.

I also want to share how meaningful it is to have been sponsored by someone I’ve admired for so long. I’ve been following your Instagram since 2018, and I still vividly remember being amazed by your accomplishment of climbing all of California’s 14ers as an Asian American woman. (major fangirl here)

Thanks to this scholarship, I had the chance to try ice climbing for the first time—a challenge I never imagined I’d take on. To my surprise, I discovered I was better at it than I expected, which has been an incredible confidence boost.

I wanted to make sure to thank you once again for the best weekend ever 🙂

  • I attended Tiffany’s women’s ice-climbing retreat in Ouray, CO in January 2025 and it was truly an unforgettable experience! From the personalized goodie bags and prep call to the well-planned (yet flexible) itinerary, every detail was carefully thought out.

Tiffany made sure we were prepared, supported us both on and off the ice, and even organized fun evenings, such as getting hot chocolate in town, self-massage night and a trip to the hot springs.

The best part, though, was the community. Being surrounded by strong, like-minded women who were equally eager to challenge themselves was deeply inspiring. The encouragement and camaraderie didn’t end when the retreat did- watching these women continue to grow and push their limits continues to motivate me to keep training and striving higher to this day.

I can’t recommend Tiffany’s retreat enough. It’s more than just ice climbing-it’s an empowering experience of growth, support, and connection.

  • A ladies trip to remember. Colorado is the most magical place. Rock climbing is awesome but have you ever been ice climbing? Truthfully I never went because the only offers I ever got were from men, & I never wanted to climb with men. I wanted to climb with women. 2021 I had the honor and privilege to do that. I wanted to go back the next year but life happened and I couldn’t go. Jan of 2025 I finally got the chance to go again. Tiffany curated the most magical weekend. Not only did I get to meet 10 other bad ass girlies, I got to climb and learn from them.

Tiffany made sure we all felt safe & comfortable in every scenario. Our guide Anna is one of the most humble & giving humans I’ve ever met. Learning to climb from her is an experience you will never forget. Mal reminded me that I can do hard things & that I can trust my gear and my mind. Nico reminded me that not all men are bad, & some are magical unicorns bursting with positivity and he was the best photographer! Grateful is an understatement. I felt privileged beyond measure to spend a whole weekend in Ouray & the ice park. Her friend Julie is an amazing chef, teacher, & human. Tiffany holds the mirror so you can see yourself & also find who you really are outside, she wants the best for you I promise.

If you want to do something that challenges you in mind, body & spirit, just book the trip and worry about life later. Not only will you meet the most amazing humans you will meet yourself. ( & don’t forget to tip your guides!) you will leave feeling whole & smiling the biggest smiles you ever have.
