Original photographs & coloring inspiration
Welcome! I’m Tiff, the photographer and adventurer behind Follow Tiff’s Journey. Color Your Journey brings 30 landscapes from my personal outdoor adventures to the coloring page, from swirling desert sandstone to mountain peaks and turquoise alpine lakes.
These are some of my most popular Instagram photographs, alongside personal favorites that have stayed with me long after the adventure. Whether you recognize a place from your feed, have been there yourself, or are discovering it for the first time, I hope these scenes inspire a little adventure of your own.
If you arrived here from the QR code in your book, you’re in the right place. Match your coloring page number to the original photograph below. Use the photos for color inspiration, or make the landscape entirely your own.

Arizona, USA

Color inspiration: The Colorado River curves around warm sandstone cliffs. Try deep green water, orange rock, and cooler shadows.
05 — Druid Arch
Canyonlands National Park, Utah

Color inspiration: Red-orange sandstone and pale desert rock frame the arch. Leave its openings open to the sky behind them.
07 — White Pocket
Arizona, USA

Color inspiration: Pink, red, orange, and creamy white bands make these sandstone swirls a natural place to experiment.
09 — Marlboro Point
Moab, Utah

Color inspiration: Rust-colored towers catch warm light above cooler canyon shadows, beneath a soft sunrise sky.
11 — Alabama Hills
California, USA

Color inspiration: Tan boulders and desert scrub lead toward the pale Sierra peaks. The road is a softer, dusty shade.
13 — Cecil Lake & the Minarets
California, USA

Color inspiration: Warm light catches the jagged Minarets above cooler rock and still water. Follow the reflection with softer versions of the same colors.
15 — Yosemite

Color inspiration: Granite, evergreens, and still water create a quiet palette. Carry the colors of the cliffs and trees into their reflection.
16 — Blanca Lake
Washington, USA

Color inspiration: Milky turquoise-green water is the focus here, surrounded by dark evergreens and rugged gray slopes.
17 — Delta Lake
Wyoming, USA

Color inspiration: Try milky turquoise-green water beneath gray rock and the dramatic Teton skyline.
18 — Prusik Peak from Gnome Tarn
The Enchantments, Washington

Color inspiration: Golden-orange larches and warm sunrise light surround Prusik Peak. Repeat those colors in Gnome Tarn’s still reflection.
19 — Blue Lakes
Colorado, USA

Color inspiration: Turquoise water contrasts with rugged mountain rock and the greens and golds of the San Juan landscape.
21 — A Quiet Alpine Camp
Colorado, USA

Color inspiration: A small lakeside camp rests beneath a dramatic alpine ridge. Choose sunset colors and keep the water’s reflections soft.
23 — Green River Lakes & Square Top Mountain
Wyoming, USA

Color inspiration: Green water, evergreen shores, and Square Top Mountain frame the paddleboard. Soft warm light and cool sky colors complete the scene.
24 — Capitol Peak
Colorado, USA

Color inspiration: Gray granite, patches of snow, and blue sky help separate the exposed ridge from the distant peaks.
25 — Mount Whitney
California, USA

Color inspiration: Peach, pink, and gold brighten the sunrise horizon beyond the cool gray rock near Trail Crest.
26 — Half Dome Cables
Yosemite, California

Color inspiration: Pale granite rises steeply into blue sky. The clothing and backpack are a chance to add brighter colors.
27 — Torres del Paine
Patagonia, Chile

Color inspiration: Milky green glacial water lies below pale granite towers and clouds. Cool gray and blue shades can suggest distance.
28 — Cordillera Huayhuash
Peru

Color inspiration: Each of the three lakes has a slightly different turquoise tint. Contrast them with green slopes, dark rock, and white snow.
29 — Gokyo
Nepal

Color inspiration: Turquoise Gokyo Lake and the village sit below Cholatse. Separate gray rock, white snow, and blue sky with clear changes in color.
30 — Cholatse
Nepal

Color inspiration: The ground is snow. Try cool blue or lavender shadows and a peach, pink, and gold sunrise along the distant horizon.
Make it your own: How to Color Your Page
These photographs are inspiration, not an answer key. Follow the original colors, try a new palette, or imagine a different season. A turquoise lake can become purple; a sunrise can become a starry night. Your page doesn’t need to look like my photo to be beautiful.
Start with one part of the scene that catches your eye: the sky, the water, or a few sweeping bands of sandstone. Build from there at your own pace. You don’t need to be an artist or have visited these places to enjoy the journey.
When you’re done, share your finished page on Instagram and tag @followtiffsjourney so I can see your version. I’d love to see where your colors take you!
A few quick answers
Do I need to use the colors in the photographs?
Not at all. Use the photos as a starting point, or choose whatever colors you enjoy. There is no right way to color your journey.
Why do the drawings have fewer details than the photos?
The line art simplifies small textures and details to leave you comfortable spaces to color. The photographs can help you distinguish rock, water, snow, trees, and sky when you want a little guidance.
Can I read more about these places?
Yes! Where I have a related blog post, the photograph and the guide link below it take you to that story. Some links cover the wider park or region. A few places don’t have a guide yet, and one camping spot is intentionally left unnamed.
Do I need to scan the QR code every time?
You can bookmark this page or type www.followtiffsjourney.com/coloring-book into your browser whenever you want to return to the reference photos.
Is this book only for experienced colorists or hikers?
No. It’s for anyone who enjoys landscapes, travel, and a little creative time, whether you’re an experienced colorist, a curious teen, or simply dreaming about your next adventure.
